I initially thought I could design my space on my own. 'How hard could it be?' I asked myself. (P.S. the answer is 'hard'). But as I got deeper into the process, I realized I wanted more than just a functional space—I wanted a home that felt special every time I walked through the door. It’s easy to think we can do it ourselves, but the right designer can elevate your space in ways you might not even imagine. And that's where Rashmi comes in..... Working with Rashmi was a rewarding experience. At first, I wasn’t sure how well we’d collaborate, especially since it was all virtual, which was challenging for me. She specifically told me at the beginning, "I understand that collaborating virtually might seem challenging, but trust me—by the end, you'll be thrilled with your space. I'm ready to take on the challenge of changing your mind." As time passed, we found a groove and learned how to communicate with each other. I’ll admit, I pushed back on almost every suggestion she made, primarily because making decisions wasn't easy for me. She was good at guiding me forward. Each time something arrived, I found myself thinking, "She was right...again!" One of the highlights was the sofa color she chose—it popped in a way I hadn’t expected, perfectly complementing the space. She was deeply involved in every aspect of the design, from decor and paint color to ensuring every piece fit perfectly within the space. Additionally, she worked closely with the contractors to ensure that their execution met her high standards. Now that the project is complete, I’m beyond happy with the result. It’s a style I’m thrilled to live in. Every time guests visit, they can't stop commenting on how beautiful everything looks. One particular win was the entrance, an area I didn’t care to focus on much. She insisted on focusing on it, and now it creates an incredible first impression for guests. My bedroom feels like a luxury hotel, with wallpaper and lights that serve as the perfect accent. By the end, we developed a mutual appreciation—her design expertise helped me step out of my comfort zone, and I think I challenged her just as much. I got in touch with Rashmi after I witnessed my sister’s place transform into a vibrant welcoming space. We moved into our new home 2 years ago. After the initial chaos that ensues a move we started thinking of changing some furniture to better suit the new place. So what started with changing a sofa , turned into the whole of my downstairs getting transformed. She has great attention to detail and does her work with passion. She always gave me a couple of options when choosing color, material, texture in the room. Working remotely and pulling this together is a feat in itself as the colors, space does not look exactly how it is in person. With home buying, there is always this dilemma if we should buy a new construction home with the standard design options that the builder has OR buy a second home and remodel it to our taste. Thankfully, for us it wasn’t a decision point at all since we had Rashmi. Her vision for interior design is immaculate. She instantly connects with her clients and understands their needs. When we began the process, we were very confused on what we wanted but she understood it from the beginning and was very patient in explaining how our design expectations could be brought to life. Being remote was never a problem as she was great at communicating all the way and helping us visualize the bigger picture. During our project she had some unfortunate health episodes, but she didn’t let that get in the way of our project and finished our project in time. Kudos to her commitment on that! I would strongly recommend her for all your interior design needs, but here’s my advice – once you explain what you want, you need to trust her execution to get the best outcome. It is only natural to not be able to visualize a designer’s vision and we had the same concern which elongated the process, but the result was truly beyond our expectations. Every house and the family that lives in it has a story to share, and in my humble opinion Rashmi got the essence of our story and really made us feel at “home”.
